Kochi, India – March 2008:Assyst completes the development and delivers Air Publication Distribution System (APDS) 1.0 to the Indian Naval Distribution Authority (INDA). APDS deals with receipt, accounting, and distribution of publications relating to naval aircraft. The current system, works on the legacy method of paper based book keeping, and as information was dispersed among various files and in various locations, the current system caused considerable loss of time, apart from the difficulty in managing and maintaining the huge amount of data. As INDA is a nodal agency it was very important for them to publish periodical statistical reports on their activities. It turned out to be a difficult procedure since the data had to be consolidated from different ledgers. This required much effort, and the possibility for error was high.
Assyst started the project after conducting an exhaustive study of the process involved in maintaining and distributing the publications. Assyst then designed and developed a web based application with intuitive and user friendly interface to simplify and streamline the management and distribution of publications. APDS is now helping INDA to more efficiently manage data relating to the distribution of publications relating to aircraft.
