Kochi, India - July 2009: World Resources Institute (WRI) is a Washington, DC based non-partisan and nonprofit organisation with a staff of more than 100 scientists, economists, policy experts, business analysts, statistical analysts, mapmakers, and communicators developing and promoting policies that will help protect the Earth and improve people's lives. WRI's mission is to move human society to live in ways that protect Earth's environment for current and future generations.
WRI requires an easy-to-use online catalog of ecosystem service indicators to support the community of ecosystem services practitioners as part of the Mainstreaming Ecosystem Services Initiative. The requirement is to have an online interface that will allow the indicators as compiled by WRI widely available for use by its staff and that allows other users to upload indicators, which will be privilege based. Assyst will be customizing Drupal CMS (PHP/MySQL) Version 6.13, AJAX and will also develop and integrate custom modules to the Drupal platform to facilitate the business requirements. The assignment also involves data migration from the existing indicator database (MS Access) to the latest MySQL version.
