State-of-the-art Infrastructure Assyst International operates from a state-of-the-art 25,000 sq. ft. software development center. It is connected to the US office through dedicated T-1 lines that carry both data and voice. High-end firewalls provide performance, security, and flexibility not only in protecting networks against threats from the Internet, but also in connecting remote offices and workers together securely using easily configured IPSec Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). The system is compatible with standard L2TP/IPSec VPN client supplied with Microsoft Windows 2000/XP operating systems and includes an unlimited SafeNet SoftPK V5.0 VPN client license for use with older Microsoft operating systems. It also allows comprehensive logging and e-mail alerts for essential monitoring of network security and thwarted hacker attempts. Equipment, Software Licenses and Products Assyst International has about 300 workstations and 30 servers installed in its offices. Communication equipment includes a Samsung DCS 500 EPBX at both ends. Both the US and Indian offices are connected using a VOIP switch that provides up to 32 simultaneous calls. The company is currently scaling the EPBX to allow 96 extensions between the two offices. In addition there are nearly fifty Asterisk phones being used.  Partnership / Licenses Assyst is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner. This gives Assyst access to Microsoft product suite and also access to their latest MSDN kits. Software Applications Assyst realized the potential of Linux very early on and has setup its entire back office on Linux including its file server running on Samba. The following is a list of other software that is used for day–to-day internal operations: Mail - Qmail, which runs on Linux is the mail server and IMP from Horde, is a thin client email application that uses the IMAP protocol that can be accessed by anyone who has a company email account and has access to the web. Fax – A customized version of Hylafax, which is an open source enterprise class system for sending and receiving faxes that runs on a Linux machine. Workgroup/Productivity – Assyst SUITE, an in-house application that is used across the organization for H/R, Time Collection, Time Approval, Leave Approval, CRM and Project Tracking built using Sybase and Java.
